SIGNING UP & SIMPLE PROFILE SETUP:

How do I signup?
Simply Sign-up on the front page in 3 easy steps! Don’t worry, it’s free. 1) Enter your email address, 2) Choose a password, 3) Type in the “captcha” letters and numbers to verify that you are not a computer sending spam. Now you’re all set to start “Hyping”

Is my name the same as my username?
No. Your name is, well, your name! Your user name is whatever nickname you've chosen for yourself, and it will be displayed each time you post a scoop, comment on another story, send a friend request to another user, etc.

How do I change my user name?
Go to My Profile and select Edit Account. Type in a new user name and enter in your password, and it's changed!

How do I create a profile?
After you've signed up on sweethype.com, click on the My Profile link under the search bar in the upper right hand corner, then click Edit Profile.

Can anyone view my profile?
All users can see your profile, including your picture and user name. Privacy Settings are coming soon.

Sweet Stats

What are Sweet Stats and how are they calculated?
Your “Sweet Stats” are determined by the number of submissions and the number of positive hypes that your scoops have received. Your “popular ratio” is determined by how many of your posts have made it onto the front page.

GENERAL

What is sweethype?
Sweethype is a women-centered social and news networking website. It’s a place where women can come together and find must-read stories, submit articles, and vote on which are the most interesting finds of the day. Sweethype is a community based site. There are no editors, which means everything on here is submitted directly from the community. Share and discuss what matters to you most because this site if for you!

What are “Hypes” and how do they work?
Hypes=Votes. The number of ‘HYPES’ that an article has represents the number of positive votes that it has received.

A user can only “Hype” once per story. With the up and down arrows, you can Hype a story up or Hush it down. There is only one “Hush” per story as well.

When a story is submitted, it automatically receives 1 Hype. To get more Hypes, users must vote on your scoop.

As your scoop gains more “Hypes”, it will show up in the "Upcoming Scoops" on the Fresh Scoops page. It will also appear in the “Upcoming Scoops” bar at the bottom of the front page. If your story gets a lot of “Hypes” in a short period of time, it will become “Popular” and be shown on the front page. The TOP 10 TOPICS lists the most popular scoops in the last 24 hours.

Can I search for a topic?
Yes. Simply type a word (ie: politics, dating, nutrition) into the search bar located on the top right hand corner of the front page. This will search for the topic and find the most relevant articles based on your search item.

Can I find a list of articles for a particular category?
Yes. Across the top of every page, there are popular topic categories, such as World News, Health & Wellness, and Love & Sex. Click on whichever category you are interested in, and the articles will appear below.

SUBMITTING A SCOOP:

Do I have to be a member to submit a story?
Yes. The stories on Sweethype.com are accessible for everyone to read freely, but if you would like to submit a story you can simply sign-up using your email address & a chosen password, and you're ready to submit!

How do I submit a story?
After signing in to your Sweethype.com account, click on the "Submit a new scoop!" link, and follow the instructions thereafter.

How do I see my story after it's submitted?
When you submit a story, it immediately appears under the "Fresh Scoops" link.

How do I get my story to appear on the front page?
Stories that get the most “Hypes” in a short period of time will make in onto the front page and into the “Popular” section.

Can I comment on another person's story?
Yes. If you want to comment on a story, click on the message bubble next to the word “Comments” right under the story summary.

How do I edit my story once it’s been submitted?
Click on the “My Profile” link underneath the search bar in the upper right hand corner. On your profile page there will be a section titled “Latest Activities.” This will have all of your most recently submitted articles. Click on the article’s title and after the jump, there will be an edit tab that will allow you to make changes to your article.

How do I link a picture to my story?
You can make your posts more attractive by selecting a relevant picture. There are two ways to do this. You can either create an image link back to the original online picture or you can upload a picture from your computer.
a) Image link: If you are using Internet Explorer, right click the image, select properties, then copy the URL that is next to "Address URL"
*If you are using Firefox, right click and select Copy Image Location.
*If you are using Safari, right click and select Copy Image Address
then paste that URL into the "Image Link" box.

b) Upload a picture: Save the image to your desktop, then in the "Image" box, click the "Browse" button. This will pull up your folders. From here, you can pick a photo, select “Ok” and once you are back on the edit page, click on the “Upload” button.

How does my story appear on the front page slideshow?
The stories with the most “Hypes” each day are featured in this slideshow.

COMMUNITY FEATURES

Can I send a friend a private message?
Yes. Click on the name of the friend that you'd like to send a message to. Upon reaching their page, click on the pink envelope next to 'Private Msg' and type away! Only the user selected will be able to see the message.

Where are my Private messages?
In your Profile Page, next to your Profile picture in the black bar, there is a ‘My Inbox’ link. Follow that link to Read, Send & Delete Messages.

How do I add a friend?
Simply go to the users profile and directly beneath their profile picture is a “Add Friend” link. Simply click that link and confirm.

Where are my friend requests?
In your Profile Page, next to your Profile picture in the black bar, there is a My Friend Requests link. Follow that link to Approve, Deny or Cancel friend requests.

How do I remove a friend?
On your profile page there is a Friend list. Click Recent Status on Friend list. It’ll take you to a page with a list of all your friends. Just click Remove friend and confirm.

BLOG FEATURES

How do I access my blog?
Follow the View Blog tab at the Top of your Profile Page.

How do I add a Blog Title?
Go to the Edit Blog Tab on your Blog Page. Inside you should find a Blog Title field where you can name your blog.

How do I write a post?
Once logged in, simply go to your blog page. In the Black bar above the pink gradient, you should see an ‘Add Post’ link. Click that link to begin adding a post.

Can I submit my Blog Post to be Hyped?
YES! At the bottom of the Add Post page, there is a checkbox that you can check to automatically submit the post to be hyped.

Where can I edit my post?
You can find the ‘Edit Post’ link next to ‘Add Post’ on your blog homepage.
